Class overview
Join us for an exploration of how the cultivation of six qualities, known in Buddhism as the paramitas, allow us to be a force for balance, harmony, compassion, and love as we meet a world that is reeling from imbalance, disharmony, separation, and fear. Just as the embodied expression of these qualities is relational, this course will be a weaving together of multiple Sanghas, stewarded by leaders from Appamada Zen Community, Awakening Together Zen Community, Just This Zen Community, and Open Door Zen Community and supported by our Guiding Teacher, Flint Sparks.
"It is possible the next Buddha will not take the form of an individual. The next Buddha may take the form of a community, a community practicing understanding and lovingkindness, a community practicing mindful living. And the practice can be carried out as a group, as a city, as a nation."
- Thich Nhat Hanh
